It's All in How You Look at Things!
School is so interesting! In addition to the many things we do and learn in our classrooms, we're able to go to Related Arts classes that really s-t-r-e-t-c-h our imaginations and abilities. One such class is Tech. Ed. with Mrs. Carroll and her student teacher Miss Hoover. In the slideshow above, you'll see us learning and practicing our Orthographic Projection drawings. Orthographic Projection is a drawing technique used to represent a three-dimensional object in two dimensions. It uses multiple views of the object, including front view, top view, and right side view. It requires skill and a plan! We're enjoying our learning in Tech. Ed.
Cafe went well today! We had great discussions about May, and Mrs. Mac will be sharing June (the final chapter) tomorrow. Some things that made us happy in this chapter included Mr. Baker contacting Mrs. Baker through telegram, letting her know he was safe, and Holling helping his sister come home after she had decided to run away. Our records are just about finished, and there are some very creative theme songs for this book! '60s Day is fast approaching, and we thank all the generous parents who have volunteered their time, skill, and items for the stations.
Our class meeting was held this afternoon! We discussed random acts of kindness, and what this can mean to others. Our class has prepared a project as a gesture to spread kindness through the school during the coming week. We hope it brings smiles during this week of testing.
We've missed having Library and were glad to go today. We were able to exchange our books for new ones!
Have a great evening!

The Week is Flying!
We've been so busy that the week is flying by! Tomorrow is cafe, and we've just about finished the story. Mrs. Mac will share the final chapter on Friday. Some have wished that there would be a sequel to the story, as we're getting attached to Holling. We're anxious to hear what happens.
Much of today was spent reviewing skills in Math and Reading, but we also discussed information about climate and vegetation in Social Studies and heard the beginning of a good book that Cambria is sharing called The Name of This Book is Secret by Pseudonymous Bosch.
Homework:
Reading - Be ready for cafe tomorrow. Bring your role and mug! Study PSSA vocabulary for a Bingo game on Friday.
Math - Form A, pgs 35-38 and p. 40-43
Social Studies - Study! Quiz on Friday.

We Can 'Dig It!'
For weeks, students have been working on a whole school musical after-school. The musical is Dig It! It is a tale of ancient civilizations by John Jacobson and Roger Emerson, and it will be performed on March 29 at 2:00p.m. and 7:00p.m. We've taken a few pictures during rehearsals that we're sharing. Enjoy!
Our third Benchmark Test results were ready today, so we reviewed using an item analysis report from Performance Tracker. The results were good! The multiple choice items and open-ended items were discussed in an effort to understand mistakes and review. We feel ready for the coming week!
We continued to learn about the climate and vegetation of Europe and Russia. Students completed study guides that helped with finding the main points and important vocabulary.
Homework:
Reading - Read May in The Wednesday Wars for Thursday. Complete your role. Study PSSA vocabulary.
Math - Math Buckle Down Form A, pages 13-26.

Believe!
During this week, we will be reviewing important skills once again in preparation for next week's P.S.S.A. tests. Hopefully, this will make all of us more confident in what we can do.
In Language Arts, we reviewed tips for reading Graphic Features found in text. The features we practiced reading included line graphs, bar graphs, picture graphs, circle graphs, diagrams, tables, timelines, maps, and illustrations. Although none of these features have many words, they say a lot! We learned in our review that it is important to read any words found on a graphic, including the title. Each graphic has a clear way of presenting information that may be hard to say in paragraph form.
In Math, Ms. Scheidler reviewed special directions for using the calculator. We practiced using the many function keys to achieve correct answers.
Homework:
Reading - Complete Lesson 11: Working with Directions in your Buckle Down book. Review your vocabulary sheet a few minutes each night. Read May in The Wednesday Wars and complete your new role for Thursday. NO NEW STORY THIS WEEK!
Math - Math Buckle Down pages 5-11 in thin book. Also, Ch. 11 packet is due tomorrow.
Wellness - Ch. 4, lesson 2 (vocab. and questions) due next Monday.
D.A.R.E. - Pgs. 18, 19, 20, 29 and signed letter due this Wednesday.
Related Arts - Tech. Ed. homework is due Thursday.
