Gallery of Heroes Musical! Thank You, CISPO!
This morning we had a visit from a troupe of actors/singers from the Pittsburgh CLO. They came to share a musical based on the true story of a writer who traveled the world named Nellie Bly. Her life was amazing and we enjoyed hearing the story in song. Thank you, CISPO, for another exciting educational program!
As a class, we've been taking a closer look at poetry. We often sing poetry when listening to our ipods or radios. Song lyrics are a form of poetry, and the music often matches the rhythms and rhymes of the words. Poets play with words, rearranging them until they find the right combination of rhythm and rhyme. They use figurative language, so much of what is written cannot be taken literally. The combinations of lines and stanzas are interesting and fun to read.
