Casey at the Bat!

Today, our team read Casey at the Bat! It was fun to read this humorous narrative poem, and with opening day on the way, this one was so appropriate. Above, you will enjoy listening as James Earl Jones, a great actor and narrator, reads Casey at the Bat.

The theme of baseball continued in Language Arts centers in the afternoon. For a leveled reading activity, and further practice with the skill of summarizing, we read a story by Steven Otfinoski called Home Run King.

In Social Studies, we reviewed our travel journals. We received a new travel journal assignment and were able to begin the research during stations today.

During tomorrow's McD's Cafe, we will be filming our interpretation of the classic comedy skit 'Who's on First?'. We've rehearsed a bit in class, but everyone needs to be ready by tomorrow with all lines memorized and ready to perform.

Science classes completed a lab today! We found the mass of water, salt water, and rubbing alcohol. We found that although all three vials were filled to 40 ml, the mass of each liquid was different. For homework, we are to find the density of each and tomorrow we will graph our findings!

Homework:
Language Arts - Rehearse your lines for 'Who's on First?' Tomorrow, we will film during McD's Cafe! Share the poem, Casey at the Bat, with someone at home!

Social Studies - Travel journal (2nd African country) due on April 19th.

Science: Complete lab; (204) complete final draft of graph
