Welcome to Africa and Quadilaterals!

Math classes today discovered that quadilaterals can be divided into two triangles. Therefore, the measure of all the angles are 360 degrees. We completed practice exercises to understand how to find the missing angle. In learning about the parts of a circle, we learned that the diameter is any line segment through the center that connects two points on the circle. A radius is any line segment that connects the center to a point on the circle.

Today, we explored Africa through maps, discussion, and a United Streaming video about Africa's geography. We labeled Africa's regions on a map, and learned that it is a continent with many countries. Passing midway through Africa is the equator. The northern half and the southern half mirror each other when it comes to climate. The continent has many different groups of people and various exotic animals. We also learned that the Sahara desert is the size of our own United States. We're excited to learn more about Africa in the coming weeks.
