Testing, testing, 1 - 2 - 3!
Since everyone was so rested from the l-o-n-g weekend, it was the perfect day for our Reading Benchmark Test! It was our third and final Reading Benchmark before we face the PSSA tests next month. Mrs. McIlvaine was so happy with our efforts! We applied all the procedures we've learned for taking our tests, including citing text support, as well as organizing and drafting when addressing our prompts. Yay, Team!
In Math, Mrs. Haddox taught us about different types of triangles. We learned that they can be classified by sides and angles. We created a foldable organizer to help us remember the qualities of each type. Our organizers include the names of triangles, picture representations, and descriptions of sides and angles. The sum of angles for all triangles measure 180 degrees. Knowing this, we learned how to solve for missing angles. Our booklets will come in handy for review as we continue our exploration of geometry.
Homework:
Language Arts - Be prepared for discussion groups tomorrow by reading pages 1-45 in Good Night, Maman and having your role complete. Also, review your spelling words, vocabulary, and the story Elizabeth Blackwell. We did not have our quizzes today, but we will have them on Friday.
Math - Study your new foldable! Also, complete R97, P97, and the Classifying Triangles Worksheet.
